אביב הגיע Spring Cleaning
במסורת ישראל, כאשר אביב מגיע ופסח בא, עושים סדר וניקיון - תרתי משמע.
לכן, בחרתי הפעם לעסוק בניקיון המתרחש בשפת העסקים הבינלאומית, המכונה מעכשיו: "גלובלית", אנגלית.
נראה שבזירה הלשונית יש "ניקיון עצמי", שמתבטא בחידוש ושינוי של מונחים ומושגים. מרבית העדכונים בשפה נוצרים בעקבות שינויים המתרחשים בחיינו.
דבר זה נובע משלושה גורמים:
גיוון - מילה ישנה מקבלת משמעות מודרנית כגון:
- Disk - לשעבר, כלי חקלאי.
- Grass- שהיה סתם דשא.
- Gay - בחור עליז במובן הישן.
זכויות אדם - מילה מקובלת יוצאת מהשימוש בגלל הנורמה של Politically Correct כגון:
- Nigger - שהפך ל- Negro, והמשיך כ- Black והיום: Afro-American.
- Chairman (שובניסטי) - שהפך ל- Chairperson.
קידמה - רעיון או המצאה חדשה שיוצרת מושג חדש לגמרי כגון:
- Google - שהפך לפועל שפירושו: לחפש.
- Metrosexual - המתאר גבר עירוני שנוטה להתיפייף.
לנוחיותך, צירפתי רשימה של 15 מונחים שהיו בשימוש נפוץ במילניום הקודם, והיום הוחלפו על - ידי מושגים מקובלים יותר.
